Nokia has started shipping its latest phone handset, which supports 3G mobile networks and has two built-in digital cameras, which can be used for video calls.

The Nokia 6680, available now in Europe, includes two integrated digital cameras: a 1.3 mega-pixel unit in the back of the case for taking photos, and a VGA resolution camera that points forward to enable users to make face-to-face video calls.

Until now video handsets for 3G networks have largely been aimed at consumers, but Nokia emphasised the business features of the 6680, including a built-in email client and browser, plus the personal information management (PIM) features of the Series 60 user interface that runs atop the Symbian smartphone operating system.

"The Nokia 6680 enables the full benefit of high-speed 3G networks to be enjoyed with a wide range of multimedia services, including video, email, music downloads and internet browsing," said Nokia's Joe Coles.

A built-in email client supports viewing of attached files such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Acrobat PDF files, according to Nokia, and can also be configured to periodically poll the mail server for new messages. The 6680 is also compatible with Nokia's SU-8W fold-up keyboard, which links to the handset via Bluetooth and makes it easier to write emails and text messages.

The 6680 supports Nokia's XpressPrint Printing Solution, which enables users to transfer images taken with the camera to a printer via Bluetooth or via a USB cable.

Nokia said the 6680 should cost EUR500 (£350) without subsidy. Actual cost to business customers will depend on the service contract they choose from their mobile carrier.
