Knowsley Borough Council has chosen a preferred bidder for the IT side of its
Buiding Schools for the Future (BSF) programme.
The deal will give schools in the Knowsley area access to personalised online
learning environments, large volumes of digital resources and an IT managed
service that will cover seven learning centres .
BSF is a 15-year £45bn programme that
has been created and funded by the Department
for Education and Skills with the intention of rebuilding or renewing
England's 3,500 secondary schools.
The BSF programme is set to transform education in the borough,
Knowsley's executive director of
children's services Damian Allen.
'It will do that through the learning environments that will be created and
the innovative new approach to teaching and learning,' he said.
'We look forward to a productive partnership with
RM as we work towards achieving our vision for
education in Knowsley.'
