Dell has confirmed that it will cut 250
jobs in Dublin and Limerick, as part of its plan to consolidate its 4,500 strong
Irish workforce.
Positions affected will be in sales, finance and marketing, as well as some
administration and technical support roles.
While the changes are being finalised, there will be more job losses across
Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said Dell in a statement.
"While we are still confirming the detail of these changes in consultation
with staff and their representatives, we anticipate making reductions in our
staffing levels across EMEA over the year of between four and five per cent from
a workforce of 17,500."
"These changes will vary by country and by department."
