Westcon Group has
partnered with a niche distributor to bring a mobile security offering to
market.
The distributor has joined forces with Oxfordshire-based
Unique
Distribution to launch a package of Nokia mobile devices alongside business
applications.
Bernie Dodwell, European security manager at Westcon, said: “This is a
bundled solution with the Nokia Eseries, IP client software, push email, device
management, anti-virus and data encryption.”
Dodwell added that the first bundle will work on vendor Avaya’s platform, but
other IP telephony platforms from vendors such as Cisco and Nortel will follow.
“Unique’s channel is totally different to ours,” he said. “We can now sell
into its channel and vice-versa.”
David Hinc, head of managed services at Unique Distribution, said: “We could
never have done this bundle without Westcon.”
