Storage software vendor
StorMagic
is looking to grab a piece of the UK market by targeting SMEs through the
channel.
The vendor is launching its UK offensive with its StorMagic SM Series, an
iSCSI-based storage area network (SAN) solution.
Mike Stolz, vice president of sales and marketing at StorMagic, said: “All of
StorMagic’s products are based on our initial idea of a software provider that
is only for small and medium businesses.”
Hans O’Sullivan, chief executive of StorMagic, said: “We wanted to provide SMEs
with simple equipment that is non-technical and affordable.
“Our competitors sell both hardware and software to resellers; however StorMagic
provides only software, and this allows partners to choose a more cost-effective
hardware vendor.”
StorMagic is planning to launch a partner programme next month, with the
intention of “recruiting resellers to drive this business forward,” added Stolz.
