Enterprises has secured Cisco Gold status in the UK by acquiring networking
reseller Minx for $1.5m (£759,000).
The deal also includes the assumption of about $4.6m of Minx’s existing debt
and a further payment of $0.7m if Minx hits certain performance targets.
Insight is currently a Premier partner for Cisco in Europe but the
acquisition will thrust it into an elite group of UK reseller’s holding the
vendor’s top-level Gold badge.
Midmarket-focused Minx will become part of Insight Direct’s operations and
Insight said the deal would bolster its skills in the sale, implementation and
management of network infrastuructre services.
Minx founder John Pepper, who will now lead Insight’s newly formed Networking
Solutions team, said: “It was important to us that we team with a company that
has a similar culture and vision for the future. We have found that with
Insight.”
Founded in 2002, boasts annual revenues of about $26m.
Stuart Fenton, president of Insight EMEA, said: “Minx’s expertise in the
design, installation and management of network infrastructure solutions is a
strategic fit to our value proposition as a trusted advisor to our clients in
finding the right technology solutions to solve business needs.
“Their capabilities take Insight UK into a different competitive landscape
within the UK.”
