Integrator
Calyx
has won a contract to supply all universities throughout the UK with a hardware
maintenance service.
Under the deal, led by the Southern Universities Purchasing Consortium
(SUPC), the integrator will offer a range of hardware maintenance options
tailored to the objectives of each higher education institution.
Rob Allen, business development manager for education, Calyx said: “Within
this framework, our hardware maintenance services can support PCs, servers,
laptops, printers and peripherals.
“In addition to this, we can maintain their Sun and other Unix platforms,
making it much easier to manage by having a single point of contact for all
hardware needs, not to mention much more cost effective than the traditional
sources.”
Calyx has also provided a new dimension to its services offering by agreeing
to provide hardware maintenance for students -as well as staff and campus
hardware infrastructure - both during term time and in the holidays.
