Distributor Rocom is teaming up with two of its vendor partners to offer resellers a series of free workshops focused on vertical markets.

The Yorkshire-based distributor will work alongside vendor partners Avaya and New Media Software to provide the seminars on what end users in different markets need from IT. End users, as well as vertical experts from the vendors, will offer VARs advice at the sessions, the first two of which will cover the education and legal sectors.

The workshops begin this month and all attendees will be given a free marketing kit to help them try and break into the markets in question. Kevin Harrison, head of Rocom's Avaya business unit, said: “Our customers have told us that they need assistance in generating opportunity and Rocom has stepped up to that challenge."

Rob Wiles, Avaya's distribution account director, added: “Central to the success of intelligent communications is understanding the challenges faced by your customer.

Better vertical marketing skills help you understand, engage and communicate the right solutions for their requirements. Avaya's range of intelligent communication systems provide powerful and compelling benefits for each and every vertical, enabling resellers to help their customers achieve superior results and gain competitive advantage.”
