Ambitious board directors should get on board with future communications trends, such as networked conferencing, to ensure a real competitive edge, says Networks Solutions provider, Voyager.
Voyager's recent survey of blue chips found that only 70 percent of board directors are well briefed on the advantages of networked conferencing and most have an outdated perception of videoconferencing technology.
The majority are also unclear on the potential return on investment and whether their own network is configured for desktop conferencing.
"Companies are always looking for new and more effective ways of doing business," says Voyager Networks marketing director, Nigel Williams.
"Using real-time audio, video and data conferencing to enhance competitive edge is certainly one answer ... [but] networked conferencing is a rough diamond which needs to be unearthed for its full potential to be realised."
