Professional social networking site LinkedIn has launched a new search platform designed to give firms an easier way to find potential new recruits as well as enabling users to locate business partners, customers and colleagues more effectively.
The firm analysed more than one billion search queries and aggregated more than a thousand pieces of feedback to improve the search experience by including features such as suggestive search for contacts and a streamlined interface.
"The end result is a completely redesigned search experience aimed at making it easier and faster for you to find the most relevant professionals that you’re looking for," said senior product manager, Esteban Koza.
Other features include the ability for users to sort results by relevance, relationships and keywords, as well as create their own view by picking the most relevant fields to their searches, said Koza.
LinkedIn now also allows users to take action such as sending an email or adding another user to their network straight from a returned search result. They can also save searches and receive weekly updates when new members join the network.
