Content management firm Stellent last week announced its acquisition of
governance systems vendor eOneHundred Group, which will give it new tools to
help companies mitigate risk.
The deal, worth about $8m, could be dwarfed by others, as Stellent and its
peers seek to survive an expected shake-out in the sector. In the past few
years, EMC has acquired Documentum, Open Text has bought Ixos, Interwoven has
merged with iManage and Vignette has picked up Tower Technology, while Stellent
itself bought document imaging firm Optika.
“We’re very selective on the buying side and we don’t need to be bought to be
successful,” said David Macey, European vice-president at Stellent.
Stellent will this week unveil Site Studio 7.5, offering common templates to
simplify the addition or editing of content.
Separately, Hummingbird has agreed to buy ECM rival RedDot.
