Content management systems vendors Tridion and Stellent have both launched upgraded products, featuring site assembly and organisation capabilities, site usage analytics and support for web designers developing accessible content.

Stellent released a new version of Site Studio, which includes a new management application to enable web managers to easily modify and update sites by adding sections and choosing layouts from a list of templates.

"Content management has evolved [to] put more control in the hands of the people that need it," said Stellent spokesman Dave Macey. "This is the next extension of that – getting away from [relying on] IT staff [so that] business end-users can now [change the way a site looks]."

The product also integrates more tightly with Stellent's Content Tracker analytics tool so web managers can view content usage statistics and improve sites accordingly.

Tridion, meanwhile, has concentrated on web accessibility with the launch of version 5.2 of its R5 Enterprise Content Management Suite. The new product includes a warning system to inform the web designer if their site content and layout is not compatible with accessibility standards.

Version 5.2 also supports Cascading Style Sheets and is compatible with the latest versions of SQL Server, Oracle and IBM WebSphere platforms, according to Tridion.
