DataViz will release later this year a
version of its Documents To Go mobile productivity suite for BlackBerry
handhelds. The tool will enable BlackBerry users to work with documents in
Microsoft Office formats.
Documents To Go for BlackBerry will enable workers to access, view, edit and
create documents in the native format used by Microsoft's Word, Excel and
PowerPoint, DataViz said. The company did not say when it will ship.
The suite uses DataViz's InTact technology, which enables users to receive a
Word document, edit it on their device, and forward it to another user without
losing any of the original formatting.
"BlackBerry customers can now have the same confidence editing and emailing
native Office files as they would if they used the file right on their desktop,
" said DataViz president Dick Fontana.
Versions are already available for Palm OS, Windows Mobile Smartphone
edition, and Symbian phones with UIQ and Nokia Series 80 user interfaces.
