mp3-explorer is a combined MP3 player and editor that gives you complete control over your MP3 collection. This latest version has full support for Windows Media files, so you can play and edit these in mp3-explorer also.
The Jukebox element of mp3-explorer features everything you would expect ifrom a player, including the ability to loop, shuffle, and erase tracks. Track times are displayed, along with all the relevant ID3 tag information in a small side panel that can be opened and closed at will. The ID3 tag includes track length, bit-rate, track title, and sometimes an image.
Each time you load mp3-explorer it will scan your hard drive to obtain a list of all the supported audio tracks on your system. These can be listed by artist, genre or album, and powerful search options include the standard artist and song, along with other more obscure details such as bit-rate.
There is even a built-in function that allows you to search the internet for music, either on specific sites or the internet in general. All results and webpages are displayed directly within mp3-explorer, with no need to jump between several windows while searching for new music.
Use the explorer function to keep track of all your MP3 and WMA files on any local or network drive(s), and have instant access to them at the click of a button. The larger your audio collection, the more you will appreciate the in-depth search facilities of mp3-explorer, which take the strain out of organising and collating your music collection. Playlists can be created directly within the explorer and automatically played within the built-in audio player.
There is full support for ID3 tag editing, and files can be renamed easily either as individual tracks or on a mass scale, all at the click of a button. Drag-and-drop support is incorporated as part of the explorer interface, enabling tasks to be carried out much quicker. This includes copying file information and adding tracks to playlists.
